Special Resources for Wekiva Area residents are now available

The 2016 Springs Protection Act will force Orange County to phase out conventional septic system in the Wekiva Springs area. 25,000 – 55,000 homeowners will be affected. To make county officials aware of homeowner concerns, a petition drive is currently underway for Orange County residents in the Wekiva Springs area. A fact sheet explaining the issues and a petition form are available in the “Resources” section of The Sludge Report. You are encouraged to help by downloading the forms and the fact sheet, taking it to your neighbors and asking them to sign the petitions.

Quick overview of the situation: The State is requiring Orange County to force septic system owners to convert either to sewers or expensive, complex, electrically powered nitrogen reducing septic systems. We are demanding that Orange County develop a plan for a replacement that does not require an electric solution such as “grinder” sewers or “advanced” septic systems on their property. Why? Because when the power fails so does your sewage treatment. Remember IRMA!
